About Divine Mentoring

The transition from school to adulthood can be difficult for all young people. Changing from full-time school hours to being independent is a big adjustment, so being prepared in advance is the best solution. Our Divine Mentors will make sure this journey is exciting and fun for you. 

Divine Mentoring is especially for individuals with Intellectual Disability. We use a person-centred approach to learn about your needs and understand you and your specific life goals. We focus on social and emotional learning for building core competencies in communication, problem solving, self-regulation and personal and social awareness. Providing active support, we do things alongside you, to empower you to engage in social activities, further your education and secure employment. 

We will work with you and your NDIS plan to ensure that you are getting the most out of life. 

Our Divine Mentors will visit you during your last school term to get to know about your interests, challenges, hobbies, and what makes you happy.  We will create a Capacity Building Program outlining your goals and the pathway required to achieve them. We will then work with you to get the wheels in motion. Don't worry, it won't all be hard work, it will be fun and engaging and we'll make sure that you have the right Mentor to suit your needs. There are so many things out there for you, it's just about defining your own personal plan.

We use Butterfly Social Skills videos to help to teach key concepts. These animated videos have been specially created for people with Intellectual Disability and use relatable scenarios and repetition to ensure that our students are absorbing the content.

Many of these videos have been created especially for us and contain the information we feel will be useful for our clients.
